Chapter 8

Poole in worried about his master (Dr. Jekyll). He visits Utterson to inform him of his masters heinous condition. Jekyll had confined him in one small room for quite a while and Poole suspected foul play. Utterson then goes with Poole back to Jekylls to check on Jekyll at Poole's request. All the other servants are also concerned about Jekyll. Poole warns Utterson not to go in even if Jekyll was to invite him and just to listen. They go to the of the room that Jekyll is located in and Poole tell him Utterson is here to see him, but a voice not his master's answers. The voice Utterson then recognized as Mr. Hyde. Utterson damanded to see him or he would break through. Hyde wouldn't let them in so they used force Utterson and Poole together broke down the door. A terrible scream broke out and they found Hyd'es lifeless body on the floor and they STILL think that Hyde is NOT Jekyll, but that the doctor is either dead or had somehow gotten away.....but the doors had not been broken and Hyde was locked inside. Poole & Utterson turn to the desk, find a large envelope addressed to Utterson, in the Doctor's hand-writing. The last will of Dr. Jekyll: In Hyde's name...Utterson was put up.


Chapter 9

Henry Jekyll sent a letter to Dr. Lanyon. He asked him to stop what he had planned for one night and to follow the instructions he stated in the letter. Dr. Jekyll instructed him to go to his cabinet alone and grag the contents from a certain drawer then take them back home and be alone. If he follow all of this Jekyll stated in his letter 5 minutes later he would understand the importance of it. Lanyon thought Jekyll had gone crazy after reading the letter. Even though he was weary of the situation he still did what Jekyll instructed. He found the items in the drawer then returned. At twelve like the doctor said his messenger arrived he was repulsive to look at. Dr. Lanyon was curious about the strange man so he asked him to sit down for them to get acquainted. Then the strange man started talking in riddles. This man mixed together the salts from the drawer. He drank the potion in front of Dr. Lanyon and Hyde transformed into Jekyll right in front him. The terror of witnessing that dreadful event will continue to haunt him.
